Electrofilmika Presents: Home Movies Collection
From December 2020 to February 2021, Electrofilmika released 20 Instagram reels made with home movies shot on Super 8 and Regular 8mm film from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The collection includes film footage from “Arthur H. Virtu” who inadvertently became a historical filmmaker as he documented his time working in Atlantic City during the 1930’s – 70’s and the “Lavelle Family” who has kept a record of its family on 8mm film for three generations.
The “Home Movies Collection” features tracks by Benjamin Damage, Oscar Mulero, Doomwork, Keith Carnal, Death In Vegas, Christian Löffler, ANNA, Mark Broom, Helena Hauff, Daniel Avery, Alessandro Cortini, Jon Hopkins, Luigi Tozzi, Anthony Linell, Kelly Lee Owens, Rebekah, Veronica Vasicka, Amelie Lens, Cassegrain, Paula Temple, Donato Dozzy, and Aurora Halal.
Film archives have been possible thanks to the Prelinger Archives of San Francisco. Part of the conservation and digital transfer was made possible by a grant from Al Larvick Fund in partnership with Pro8mm.
